Here’s one thing I’d sort out before flying into Los Cabos: your ride from the airport. After a long travel day, the last thing you want is an expensive surprise. Compare the full price, confirm exactly where to meet your driver, and save the pickup details on your phone before you leave home. A little planning can protect your vacation budget.
Choose your airport transportation
| Option | Best fit | Confirm before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | Families, groups and a direct ride | Total vehicle price, luggage, child seats and waiting time |
| Shared shuttle | Travelers comfortable with scheduled departures or extra stops | Departure schedule, hotel coverage and luggage |
| Authorized taxi | Visitors who prefer arranging a ride on arrival | Official pickup point, total price and currency |
| Rental car | Independent day trips and flexible exploring | Insurance, deposit, tolls, parking and return arrangements |
| App-based ride | Local journeys where pickups are permitted | Current airport pickup rules and a backup option |
Arriving at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)
Match the booking to your flight and accommodation: Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor are different areas. Do not assume an app pickup is allowed at the terminal. Prearranged transport can simplify arrival for a family or group.
Your pickup checklist
- Save the driver or company contact and confirmation offline.
- Confirm the terminal, meeting landmark and what happens after a delayed flight.
- Ask whether tolls, waiting time, gratuity and extra luggage are included.
- Confirm the price is per person or per vehicle, and whether it is in pesos or US dollars.
- Use the agreed meeting point; avoid unsolicited transport offers.
For another Mexican airport, verify its current authorized pickup arrangements. Mexitara does not currently take transfer bookings.
